Shoot 5 - Band Performance

When planning our music video at the beginning of year, when we decided that we are going to be a band we all felt that video footage of us performing had to be included in our final piece. From conducting some research most bands in the same genre do tend to include footage of themselves performing therefore we felt that we should follow this trait and include us performing in our video.

When planning this shoot we had a few things to consider such as location and equipment. Getting the location correct for this was key as we needed a dark location preferably indoors so that we could play around with the lighting when editing as our video is in black and white we need the lighting and contrasts to be perfect. When thinking of locations we all had the schools drama department in mind as it was perfect for what we wanted therefore we asked if we could borrow their studios and they agreed which was great as we now had our locations sorted.

When thinking of equipment no-one in the group owned anything that we needed therefore we needed to borrow the equipment. As a group we came to the decision of asking the music department if we can borrow a drum kit, an electric guitar, a bass guitar and a microphone. Luckily enough the music department were generous enough to let us borrow equipment which helped us out a lot.

As we started filming I think it all went very well considering we was unsure on how to play the instruments correctly. As we are only using the band shots in quick cuts it should all look quite convincing.
