Rap/Hip Hop genre brainstorm

This our brainstorm for our Rap/Hip Hop video. We decided to go for this genre because we feel that this genre is what we know most about and feel that we are most interested in. As a group we all had very good ideas about what we wanted to feature in the video because as it is our favourite genre we all knew what should be featured in it to look as professional and convincing as possible.

Getting the right settings and locations is very key for our video because as I previously mentioned we want this video to look as impressive as possible therefore by us using locations such as run down buildings , lower class areas and also dark underground locations will maximise our chances of giving off the right impression of the video. The right setting will then reflect the mood of the video for example a dark and underground setting can foreshadow that trouble/violence may take place.

The costumes used in our video will be very important because rap artists have a certain image which lets the audience understand what type of music they are involved in for example as rap artists lots of baggy clothing such as hoodies and coats will be essential to portray the correct image. We will also wear tracksuits , caps and gold jewellery which again is strongly linked with this genre.

Overall as a group we feel that this genre can be successful if we portray the right image however as there are many well established artists with very iconic videos such as '99 problems' we are struggling to find a song which we can work with which doesn't have an well known video because we feel that if the video is very strong it would be hard for us to make our video without copying the original video.
